HEIDENHAIN TNC
With the TNC programming station, NC programs can be created on a PC just like on the machine. The workstation supports nearly all functions and allows for optimal preparation and verification of new workpieces. Additionally, the programming station provides an ideal environment for training. Optionally, a digital twin can be integrated for the TNC7.

- With graphical support and the proven TNC functions
Highlights
Programming and training software for HEIDENHAIN TNC
NC programs can be created, tested, and optimized on a PC using HEIDENHAIN software. Every menu and button corresponds to the real machine layout. Programs can be created in HEIDENHAIN plain text dialog, DIN/ISO, or with graphical support and the proven TNC functions. Contours can be imported from standardized CAD formats (DXF, STEP, IGES). Externally created programs, such as those from CAM systems, can be checked and adjusted if necessary. Optionally, the programming station (TNC7) can be equipped with a digital twin.
- 1:1 programming and workpiece simulation
- CAD import
- Optional digital twin (TNC7)
Module
HEIDENHAIN TNC programming station
For shop floor programming, NC programs can be created, tested, and simulated just like on the real machine. The project created, including program, tool, and zero point information, can be transferred to the machine via network or data carrier. The optional digital twin for the TNC7 indicates collisions in the working area and checks the entire machine's travel range.
- 1:1 programming of the machine on the PC
- 3D workspace simulation & DMG MORI adaptation (TNC7 Digital Twin)
Functions
Services
DMG MORI, in collaboration with Heidenhain, creates the digital twin of customer-specific machines upon request and supports services for training and installation. The duration depends on the number of workstations to be installed and the training needed. The service package is individually determined in consultation and can be conducted online or in person.
Digital twin
The digital twin is a realistic representation of the machine on a programming station. This provides the actual kinematics, parameters, and functions of the machine on the PC. It protects against collisions, saves setup times, and increases efficiency. DMG MORI adapts the 3D model and control data of the machine and implements it into the programming station.
- 1:1 programming
- Complete collision control
- Increased efficiency and cost reduction
Questions & Answers
Are there special packages for education?
Yes, classroom versions are available for schools.
Where can the HEIDENHAIN programming software be used?
In work preparation, workshops, training, vocational schools, chambers of crafts, and universities
Who is the HEIDENHAIN programming software suitable for?
- CNC shop floor programmer
- CAM programmer
- Instructor
- Student
What are the system requirements for the software?
- Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
- Processor: With virtualization support. The instruction set VT-x or AMD-V must be available.
- Memory:
- Minimum 8 GB RAM (3 GB RAM per programming station)
- TNC7: Minimum 16 GB RAM (6 GB RAM per programming station)
- Graphics Card: For graphics-intensive applications, the use of a dedicated graphics card is recommended.
- Hard Drive: At least 10 GB of free space per programming station
- Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels
- Interfaces:
- USB interface (necessary for the software release module)
- LAN interface (necessary for the network license)
Can I use the license on different workstations?
Yes, the license can generally be used as a floating license over a server. A dongle must be used.
For which machines/controllers can the HEIDENHAIN programming station be used?
All DMG MORI machines with the HEIDENHAIN TNC640 or TNC7. The 'digital twin' option is only available for the TNC7.
